At this moment, Ploieşti municipality is in an annulment process in the case of the contract with SC Romconstruct, the firm which should have built 100 locative units on Libertăţii Street, but, according to the information on SEAP, the tender comes from another constructor. In this respect, the mayor Andrei Volosevici is certain that by the end of this year, 300 locative units will be built in the Billa area for the tenants who have been evicted from nationalized houses and for social cases. "Of course, the tender is for a price bigger than the initial one, but we could not modify the price without another bidding”, Volosevici declared. In Ploieşti, 250 family tenants are waiting for a home.

On Tuesday morning, the commissaries from the Prahova Financial Guard and the police officers from Prahova have "captured” in traffic, on DN 1 B in the locality Albeşti Paleologu, a utility car containing 78 packs of tobacco weighing 2.5 tons, without any provenience papers; the value of the unpaid taxes rising to 220.000 euro at a first evaluation. The vehicle was coming from Ploieşti and it seems that it was heading for Râmnicul Sărat when it was stopped in traffic for a routine check of the cargo and the afferent papers. The truck was accompanied by a car which was also stopped for check. The driver of the truck declared that he was carrying bran, although there were no provenience papers for this product either. The police officers discovered 78 tobacco packs behind 27 bran sacks, the tobacco being ready to be manufactured into cigarettes. Out of the 2.5 tons of tobacco, approximately 4 million cigarettes could have been made. The two drivers from Bucharest are interrogated by the police officers and the commissaries from the Financial Guard Prahova in order to establish the provenience of the cargo and uncover their entire infraction, as they are charged with excise products traffic, respectively tobacco, with the aim of commercializing them, and this is punished by imprisonment from 3 to 12 years.

În acest sens, primarul Andrei Volosevici e convins că până la sfârşitul acestui an vor fi construite în zona Billa 300 de unităţi locative pentru chiriaşii caselor naţionalizate evacuaţi din acestea şi pentru cazurile sociale. ”Evident, licitaţia este pentru un preţ mai mare decât cel iniţial, dar nu aveam cum să majorăm preţul decât printr-o altă licitaţie”, a declarat Volosevici. În Ploieşti aşteaptă o locuinţă pentru 250 de familii de chiriaşi.

The global economic crisis has started to be felt when it comes to organizing a wedding. Either young people do not go to specialized firms when they have to organize the event of their life, or they do not make this step for fear that the crisis might affect their new family. It is certain that these types of firms have a 20% decrease in their offers compared to last year. "They only want music and video filming, but they do not opt for floral arrangements, invitations and other wedding accessories. Needless to say they have completely given up pigeons, limos or top bands. Since the beginning of the previous year we have felt that the couples' pretensions regarding their wedding have diminished. We have at least a 20% decrease in requests and, moreover, we are losing because of the disinterest in complete packages”, declared the representative of one of the firms in Ploieşti. On the other hand, young couples claim that their wedding can be as successful and beautiful if they make some efforts. "A friend of ours will take the photos as he is good at it and he owns a professional camera and, we have already contacted a local flower shop and, thus, we do not have to pay the commission for the firm, and we will make the table arrangements from the flowers received at the civil matrimony. We have ordered the invitations at a local photo studio at the price of 1.5 lei each - they are personalized and very nice, as for the table cards I will make them myself on the computer. We only need music and a camera man from the firm. These are two crucial things for a wedding and that is why we need to go to professionals. As for the rest, I do believe that we will have a beautiful wedding, all the more we have involved in its preparation”, says Aurelian Tomescu, future groom. The music offered by a professional DJ can cost between 700 and 1.000 lei, the filming can exceed 1.000 lei, and the photos have the same price as the music. The costs of the decorations consisting of flowers and balloons vary according to the customer's preferences. "Generally, we cannot offer a price per package. We know the prices for music, filming, photos, but all these vary. If you want orchids and roses on the tables, a top band, cockade of natural flowers, deluxe invitations and other details that usually make a difference, surely the wedding will cost millions of lei”, claims the firm representative.

The Public and Private Domain Administration (ADPP) Ploieşti will hire 60 unemployed persons from the municipality for different activities which aim at the development of the local community. Thus, during the meeting on Tuesday, Ploieşti Local Council has approved the hiring of 60 persons who are on the lists of the County Agency for Manpower Occupation as they do not currently have a job and would work for PPDA. These people will contribute to the sanitation and arrangement of the green spaces, cemeteries, extension of cultivated surfaces etc. Moreover, the local councilors have approved the payment from the local budget of the difference unsubsidized by CAMO (AJOFM), including the social insurance contributions, for all 60 workplaces, in conformity with the stipulations of art.79 (2) from Law no.76/2002 regarding the system of unemployment insurances and stimulation of manpower occupation. The appointment of the unqualified workers for the period March 1st - December 31st 2009 means an effort of 191.040 lei for the local budget, and the incomes drawn from CAMO represent 259.680 lei. The respective unqualified workers will receive the national minimum wage, without benefiting from other increases or rights settled by the collective labour contract applicable at institution level.

After several months of economic crisis in Prahova the employers have at their disposal approximately 1.200 jobs to pick from. Thus, at this moment, the people from Prahova County can choose from 1091 jobs in Ploieşti, 87 in Vălenii de Munte and 35 in Câmpina. The majority of these offers refer to the fields of confections, security or unqualified workers in constructions. There are also offers for persons with higher education, such as economists, accountants or sales representatives. As for unemployed persons, they are so numerous that the queues from the first floor at the CAMPO office (where the unemployed persons are registered) have extended up to the ground floor.

The controversial Local Council Decision no. 7 from 2009 regarding the usage of the parking places around the blocks of flats has been modified by the politicians from Ploieşti. Thus, they have agreed to the fact that the tonnage of the vehicles carrying goods and parking in the condominium parking lots, should drop from 2 tons to 1.5 tons. Moreover, the changes forbid the parking of trailers (including touristic or other types of caravans) on Ploieşti municipality public domain. These types of vehicles may be parked only on private land. As for the vehicles exposed for sale or rent on public and private domain in Ploieşti, they will be immobilized or towed. In only a month, 37 notices and 15 contravention fines have been issued, with a total value of 8.000 lei. Those persons that do not follow the stipulation of this local law can be sanctioned with a fine between 500 and 1.500 lei (physical persons) or between 1.000 and 2.500 lei for juridical persons.

The mayor Andrei Volosevici wants to declare war to Apa Nova. After he has initially declared that he wants to abolish the monopoly of Veolia in Ploieşti, Volosevici wants to modify the contractual provisions with Apa Nova.
